Chi Delta Theta Secretary

Chi Delta Theta Sorority is the first and largest Asian-American interest sorority established on October 13, 1989 at the University of California at Santa Barbara. I have been an active member of Chi Delta Theta for about three years, having joined in Fall of 2021. Chi Delta Theta has given me a sense of belonging at UCSB, and a place to express my cultural identity. Our sorority values academics, cultural awareness, social activity, and friendship.

During the 2022-2023 school year I served as the secretary for Chi Delta Theta. As secretary, I also was on the Top 5 Executive Council, that deals with solving all internal problems and leads chapter discussions at general meetings. Through my position as secretary I gained leadership experience, communication skills, and administrative expertise. I became proficient in Google Suite, including programs like Sheets, Docs, and Calendar. I also successfully managed my time to make the Dean's Honors list all quarters while holding this executive position.

What I did:

  • Registered the organization at the Office of Student Life in the beginning of the year
  • Organized all schedules, grades, and files using Google Suite while maintaining confidentialitys
  • Promptly updated the organization's Google Calendar with upcoming events, important deadlines, and agendas for everyone's reference
  • Booked meeting rooms promptly for weekly meetings
  • Facilitated documentation of weekly general meetings using recorded minutes and follow-up recaps to send on the oranizations Slack
  • Maintained a spreadsheet of all members' use of excuse notes, fines, and statuses for attendance matters
